With almost 38.132 employees in 50 countries, B. Braun achieved a turnover in 2008 of around 3.79 billion Euros. Despite the financial crisis B. Braun was able to increase sales by 6 percent to reach € 3.79 billion (previous year: € 3,572.9 million). Interim profit increased to € 390.6 million over the previous year’s figure of € 377.5 million.

“B. Braun adopted a policy geared towards organic growth, and, as a result, the company was largely unaffected by upheavals in the financial markets in 2008 and was able to continue building upon the development trend of the past years”, said Prof. Dr. Ludwig Georg Braun, Chairman of the Management Board. “However, the record investments of € 170 million made in Germany in 2008 have led to higher interest expenses.”
